Viio integrates to your Jira or Confluence cloud allowing you to manage your account efficiently. With the information from the integration you will have clarity and perspective on Jira and Confluence users and their activity, licences you pay for vs licences you need, which makes app management transparent and straightforward.

Integration prerequisites

  • User must have Jira Administrator permissions to create API tokens that will allow you to successfully add Jira or Confluence integration

  • You need to use Atlassian Cloud since Atlassian Server is not supported with this integration

Installation Steps

1. Login to your Atlassian account. Make sure you have the following global permission:

  1. Browse users and groups.

  2. Administer Jira.

2. Сreate an API token from your Atlassian account:

  1. Click Create API token.

  2. From the popup that appears, enter “Viio.io” as the Label for your token and click Create.

  3. Click Copy to clipboard and save the API token. Note that it isn't possible to view the token after closing the creation dialog; if necessary, create a new token.

3. Get the Jira site URL. It should look like: https://your-domain.atlassian.net

  • it is important you use https:// format of the domain for the integration to work correctly (e.g. https://viio.atlassian.net and not just viio.atlassian.net)

4. Go to Integrations center and click on the Jira or Confluence app in order to connect.

  • Note: Although Jira and Confluence are different Atlassian Products, you can authenticate to both apps with one API token generated in previous steps.

5. Provide your Atlassian account email address, API Token and Jira site URL in Viio.io integration center

Notes on permissions

Since you generate a personal token for us, Viio will have the same permissions as your Admin account has. However, we only can perform a limited amount of operations with your data, such as:

  • Read your user information

  • Read audit log information

  • Remove a user

All the information stored is encrypted and managed safely. To find out more about our security policy, please read here.
